Charcoal & Watercolor - Art Camp (Age 8-13) - August 7-10

In the second week of the Creative Heart block, we move into charcoal and watercolor. By working with their completely opposite elemental nature, we would practice inner balancing and outer balancing.

We will start the week with nature walks to gather materials as inspiration for our composition. Teacher Yu will bring in pre-cut vegetables and fruits that have different textures, and the class will use both to build different combinations of colors and forms. In this process, the children will activate their sensory connections, and enter into the spaces of imagination.

We will use the photos of the compositions to inspire our paintings in the following days and explore the textures of the materials and mediums we will be using.
