In this series of art classes, students will learn to make art by observing nature and analyzing the artworks of famous artists. They will play with textures, colors, and shapes, and learn basic concepts in composition & perspective, drawing, sketching, and making paper sculptures. Students also study one artist in each session. Under the instructor's guidance, they will have the opportunity to observe the artists' unique styles and techniques and experiment with mimicking such techniques in their own creations.
Classes will cover: Drawing Plants from Nature (Scientific Illustration & Math) - inspired by artist Mary Wilcott; Landscapes – inspired by Van Gogh; Perspective with Clouds; Fun Figures with Miro, Pipe Cleaner Sculpture; and a Halloween-themed session on the Skeleton Study.
