(SPANISH) - Spanish Speaking Club (Age 7-14)
Students will practice speaking Spanish through games, songs, movements, story-telling, and immersive experiences ... with a Peruvian instructor. Suitable for students who have learned Spanish before.

About the event
In this mixed-level Spanish speaking club, students will acquire language skills through storytelling and songs, hands-on projects, games and immersive experiences. Each session is topic-based and our instructor, a Peruvian native and experienced Spanish teacher, will focus on improving students' speaking and listening skills, as well as expanding their vocabulary and enhancing pronunciation. Students will also explore the language and traditional culture of Peru through stories, music, games, crafts and food!
PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT: All levels of familiarity with Spanish are welcome - but this club would be most beneficial to students who have known at least some Spanish.
DATES: Club will meet on 6 Saturdays: 09/30, 10/14, 11/04, 11/18, 12/02 and 12/16
(You can choose to attend all 6 sessions or select sessions only)

About the instructor - Carolyn (Eyleen) Uculmana
Carolyn is a native Peruvian from Lima, now living in South Whidbey. Carolyn has a long work history in the education sector - she worked for the Edmonds School District, South Whidbey School District, and is now an accountant for the Coupeville School District. She is also an experienced leader for children's extracurricular programs, having run a Girl Scout troop in South Whidbey for four years. Carolyn was the main instructor for the Spanish Club of the Northwest Language and Cultural Center in 2021-22, and also ran her own Spanish summer camp prior to joining the Coupeville School District.
