Dive into coding and game design with Scratch, a visual programming language that simplifies complex concepts and makes learning to code accessible and fun. Students ages 8-12 will snap together code blocks to bring characters and stories to life. No prior coding experience is required.

NOTES:
- Laptops are provided for in-class use. Students don’t have to bring their own laptops for the camps, though they are welcome to if they prefer that.
In this 5-day camp, Teacher Angela Dolph will introduce coding fundamentals and basic programming concepts to students through engaging, hands-on activities and projects.

- Build Confidence and Curiosity: Our course is designed to build confidence through accomplishment and foster curiosity by exploring the endless possibilities of coding.
- No previous experience with coding is needed. Our instructors will provide personalized attention, adapting to each child's learning style and pace, ensuring a supportive and stress-free environment.
By the end of the camp, students will have a basic understanding of programming concepts, create their own Scratch games, and carry forward a sense of excitement about the potential of coding.
This camp can be combined with the 5-day PM Space Science: Journey Beyond the Stars camp in the afternoon for a full-day camp.
About the instructor
Angela Dolph is a Parent Partner Educator at HomeConnection School in Oak Harbor. She homeschooled her seven children for over twelve years until she sent them to colleges at Western Washington University, Washington State University, and Skagit Valley Community College.
Angela has been teaching a variety of STEM classes over the years using LEGO, Evobot, Mod-bots, coding, and more. With a passion for STEM education, she has led many teams of students to compete in regional and state FIRST LEGO LEAGUE Competitions (LL), going to as high as second place statewide.
Angela was also appointed Local Ambassador for Jet Propulsion Laboratories (JPL) of NASA.
