(ART) - Meditative Art-making with Miss Yu - Grades 1-3
Week by week, students will read stories about different artists, explore art-making with different art media, enjoy sensory, play-based activities, and learn breathing and meditation techniques to improve mental well being, social-emotional learning, communication, and focus.

About the event
Let students unwind in a calm and relaxing environment as they enter the classroom space of Miss Yu (JiuYu Xiao), a Waldorf teacher, practicing artist, and creative meditation teacher. This year-long program will include:
Education modules that introduce artists such as Van Gogh, Helen Frankenthaler, Georgia O’Keeffe, Dali, and Matisse in the form of stories and activities.
Breathing and meditative exercises to help unwind from school.
Sensory stimulation activities that is proven to relieve stress, improve social-emotional learning, communication, and focus.
Process-based exploration of a wide range of materials that encourages individual expression, creativity, and cognitive innovations.
TIME: every Wednesday from 1-3pm, except during school holidays.
