In this epic camp, our students will dive into the mysteries of space exploration. From learning about planets in our solar system to unraveling the secrets of black holes, this camp is designed to provide an enriching and inspiring experience to ignite their passion for space science.
Highlights:
- Planetary Adventures: Blast off on a journey to explore the planets in our solar system! Students will learn fascinating facts about each planet, from the scorching heat of Mercury to the icy depths of Neptune. They will discover the unique characteristics of each planet and marvel at the beauty and diversity of our celestial neighbors.
- The Mysterious Black Hole: Venture into the depths of space to unravel the mysteries of the hungry black hole. Through captivating storytelling and interactive demonstrations, students will learn about these enigmatic cosmic phenomena and the strange and fascinating properties that make them one of the most intriguing objects in the universe.
- Hands-On Activities: From building model rockets to creating galaxy-themed crafts, campers will engage in a variety of fun and educational projects that inspire creativity and spark the imagination.
- Group projects and games: Explore the space is more fun with friends!

This camp can be combined with the Intro to Scratch: Create Interactive Stories, Games, and Animations camp in the morning for a full-day camp. If you are having another camp at the Community Center, you can add a LUNCH BREAK ($10/day) and we can take your children from 12:00 PM onward. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THE LUNCH ITSELF - children must bring their own lunch. If you need assistance with lunch, please contact us.
About the instructor
Angela Dolph is a Parent Partner Educator at HomeConnection School in Oak Harbor. She has taught a variety of STEM classes over the years, including LEGO and Robotics using LEGO, Evobot, Mod-bots, coding, and more. With a passion for STEM education, she has led many teams of students to compete in regional and state FIRST LEGO LEAGUE Competitions (FLL), reaching as high as second place statewide. Angela was also appointed Local Ambassador for Jet Propulsion Laboratories (JPL) of NASA.
Angela has homeschooled her seven children for over twelve years. Her children are graduates from Western Washington University, Washington State University, and Skagit Valley Community College.
